Reboot’s Whole-Brain Framework is adapted from Dr Bruce Perry’s Neuro-Sequential Model of Therapeutics and the neuroscience work of Dan Siegel, Bessel van der Kolk, Allan Schore, Pat Ogden, Louise Cozolino, David Rock, Lisa Barett, Joseph LeDoux and others. While the brain is infinitely complex and integrated vertically and horizontally, Reboot uses the neuro-metaphor of the 3 Brains.

While the brain is infinitely complex and integrated vertically and horizontally, Reboot uses the neuro-metaphor of the 3 Brains. Following the neuro-sequential development of the brain, Reboot works through the priority needs of the 3 Brains ensuring that we feed the regulation needs of the Wild Brain (safety, connection, rhythm and predictability) and then Emotional Brain’s need for connection (positive relationships and experiences) to enable access to the fragile Smart Brain centres of higher order thinking to find reason in any situation.

The 7-Step Framework works for all ages and in all contexts. The importance of quality connections, psychological safety and belonging, co-regulation and felt safety, mindfulness and grounding, self-regulation and problem-solving skills, metacognition and higher order thinking skills exist in an integrated system designed to maximise everyone’s potential.

Create win-win Power With healthy relationships, a sense of belonging at home/school/in community using secure attachment tools, explicitly encourage healthy relationship formation, maintenance and repair, and develop a sense of both empathy for others and being valued through an embracing classroom/organisational/home culture.

Get Centred!

Enhance self-awareness and personal power through physical and mental mindfulness and improved interoception. Create a stable, self-responsible core for each individual, and the class/home as a whole. Help everyone to feel grounded, centred and present, and find peace in connection with nature.
